Kim and Kourtney Kardashian show support for SSFL cleanup once again
Cleveland, OH - April 09, 2021
Kim Kardashian has once again expressed her support for a full cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory by urging her close to 70 million Twitter followers to sign the Change.org petition that demands NASA and the Department of Energy fulfill cleanup agreements signed in 2010. The agreements require NASA and the DOE to fully remove hazardous chemical and radioactive waste from the 2,668-acre site.
Kourtney Kardashian also expressed support to her 26 million followers.
The Kardashian's outrage began in 2018 after the devastating Woolsey Fire burned through several Los Angeles County and Ventura County neighborhoods. The fire was ignited on the Santa Susana Field Lab property and burned close to 97,000 acres, killing 3 people. There is concern that the wildfire may have burned through contaminated vegetation and released dangerous materials into the atmosphere.
The Kardashian's encouraged their followers to watch 'In the Dark of the Valley'. The feature documentary chronicles the lives of several Southern California mothers turned advocates who are responsible for creating the Change.org petition.
In the Dark of the Valley is available to stream at the Cleveland International Film Festival until April 20. It is participating in the festivals Global Health Competition.
